Farm Engineer

We are looking for an experienced engineer with a background of working with Farm Machinery to join our Farm Engineering Team. In our commitment to innovation and quality our engineering team provide a critical role in the growing and harvesting of our crops. Their thorough attention to diligent maintenance schedules ensures equipment works when it is needed and minimises any downtown. PDM prides itself on being at the forefront of technology and innovation and is continually looking for new methods of operation where our engineers build and test revolutionary new machines and equipment.

Main responsibilities of this role will include:

Vehicle and Plant Servicing
Routine Maintenance
Fault Diagnosis
Field Based Repairs
Assistance on building and development of new projects

Essential Skills Required:

Experience and knowledge of agricultural machine maintenance
Experienced with Pneumatics and Hydraulics
Strong ability for diagnostics and repairs
Able to prioritise and manage own workload effectively
Enthusiastic, methodical and assertive
Flexible working principles (Working hours, Environment and Conditions)
Excellent Communication Skills
Strong H & S awareness

Desirable Skills:

Relevant mechanical engineering qualifications (Level 3)
Electronics and Welding (TIG/MIG) Skills
Telescopic JCB driver
Safe use of Oxy fuels
Abrasive Wheels

You will be expected to maintain a high standard of work, and will also be conscientious and use own knowledge when needed. Other key skills required for this role will include the ability to work under pressure with daily demands, team working skills and using your own and other team members knowledge when dealing with problems.
